“SWITZERLAND”
Return Wellington Season Soon
"Switzerland,” J. C. Williamson s picturesque'ice show and ice ballet, will begin a brief return season iu the New Opera House, Wellington, ou Saturday afternoon. Tlie/large number of applications for scats already made is concrete evidence of the popularity gained by the company when it was lust in Wellington, and if further evidence of it« popularity is required, this may be hud from the management’s statement that the company could have remained indefinitely ou the’boards in Auckland in its return season there had it not been for . Will Mahoney and his company of international artists having booked the theatre. Since she appeared in Wellington during January and February, Megan Taylor, champion ice skater of the world, has become more used to the comparatively small area of the ■'Switzerland” rink, and, it is claimed, quite logically, that she now displays her talents to even better advantage than previously. Phil Taylor’s trick skating makes him a certain favourite with audiences, and Eddie Marcel. the compere of the entire show, will return with fresh, original humour. The artists in the cabaret scene, Connie Graham and Hal Scott, and Tommy Russell and Ernie Marconi, will present fresh items. The cabaret scene is arranged to allow the skaters a rest. The ballet is attractive, and its movements are concise and effective. .... Music, colour, rhythm, clever lighting, and keen humour combine to make "Switzerland” an entertainment memorable iu the minds of New Zealand people.
