CYCLIST’S DEATH

Possibly Struck By Car Dominion Special Service. HASTINGS, May 5. A cyclist who was injured in Karanni Road'at about 6,30 last evening died in hospital an hour and a half later. He was John James Flynn, aged 64, freezing worker, Hastings. He had been riding toward Hastings ami it is presumed that his injuries were received either when lie fell off iiis cycle when a motorist collided with him, or when lie was struck by a car while he was lying on the road after having fallen from his cycle.

MOTORIST ARRESTED

Pedestrian Seriously Injured Dominion Special Service. NAPIER, May 5. Serious injuries were received by a pedestrian when he was struck by a motor-car in Battery Road at about 6.30 last evening. He is Stephen Whittingham, old age pensioner, Goldsmith Road, Napier. A motorist has been arrested, and will be charged in Hie Magistrates’ Court, Napier, tomorrow, with an offence arising out of this accident.

Mr- Whittingham is in Napier Hospital, and his condition is reported to be serious.

THREE MEN INJURED IN PALMERSTON NORTH

PALMERSTON N., May 5.

As a result of a motor-car'accident in Cuba Street, Palmerston North, yesterday, Messrs. A. Gulbransen and J. W. Beattie were admitted to Palmerston North Hospital with head injuries. Their condition tonight is fair. A pedestrian, Mr. H. Bevan, was taken to hospital yesterday with head injuries received when he was struck by a car near Mt. Stewart. His condition tonight is fair. WOMAN KILLED BY CAR (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 5. Miss Lilian Hay Forbes, aged 60, Tai Tapu, died last evening after being struck by a motor-car. Death is reported to have been almost instantaneous.

INVERCARGILL, May 5.

Mr. Donald MacKenzie, aged 26, a married man with two children, Makarewa. was killed instantaneously when lie was thrown from a motor-cycle. Ills brother-in-law, Mr. Thomas Gray, who was riding pillion, was also thrown from the machine and was admitted to hospital witii head injuries. Mr. MacKenzie apparently lost control when tile motor-cycle struck potholes iu the road.
