Norwegian Commander Told Of Decision LONDON, May 3. The War Office states that there is no foundation for statements that the Norwegian Commander-in-Chief was not informed of the Allied decision to evacuate tlie Trondheim area, or that he is negotiating an armistice. The Norwegian Commander-in-Chief and his staff embarked on a British warship on the night of May 1-2, and were conveyed to an undisclosed destination in Notway. “Any Norwegian order of the day announcing negotiations for an armistice,” it is stated, “has obviously been made without his authority.” The Norwegian news agency reports that all the British and French troops withdrawn from Namsos have been landed safely.
