Jensen—Alexander
The wedding took place in the Presbyterian Church, Carterton, of Lorna Mabie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Alexander, Carterton, and Lloyd George, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. 0. Jensen, Waikakeke, Carterton. The church was decorated by Mrs. McLean and Miss Hazel McLean. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a cream lame frock made with full pointed train and high neckline, and finished with small buttons and a bow at the back. Her embroidered veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of roses, gladioli and maidenhair fern. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a horseshoe by Delma Jensen and Jimmy Churchouse. She was attended by Miss Verna Irwin and Miss Beryl Irwin, who were dressed alike in blue georgette, and Mrs. S. Hart, Christchurch, as matron of honour, who wore pink georgette. All their frocks were made witli full-flared skirts, gathered bodices and puff sleeves. Flowers were worn in their hair and pink shower bouquets of dahlias were carried. Mr. D. Alexander was best man, and Mr. Joe Jensen and Mr. Ivan Blake were groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held in (lie State Theatre, where Mrs. Alexander received the guests, wearing a cyclamen wool georgette frock with matching striped coat and peach-bloom hat. She was assisted by Mrs. Jensen, who wore a petrel blue model frock with gold trimmings, u squirrel stole and peach-bloom hat. Both carried posies to match. Trophies Presented nt Dance. Members and friends of the Te Ope Municipal Tennis Club attended a very enjoyable dance at the Tala Hall, Kilbirnie, last week. The presentation of tiie championship and handicap trophies was made by Mr. R. P. Cooper, chairman of tiie management committee of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association. He complimented the club on its victory in the fourth grade matches at Miramar, and presented the certificate to D. Alexander, the team’s captain.
