GERMAN REPORTS
Pursuit Of British Claimed BERLIN, May 2. A German High Command communique stated: “The British are evacuating in haste and disorder from the Andalsnes district. Three hundred Norwegians who were covering the retreat were taken prisoner. Our advance troops are 25 miles from Andalsnes. The entire railway from Domlfips to Ulsberg is in our hands. Enormous quantities of equipment were captured near Bombas. The operations between Oslo and Trondheim have become a pursuit. “Troops from Bergen have joined those from Oslo and others have reached Sogne Fiord, taking prisoner 300 Norwegian officers and 3200 men. “Bombers sank a British merchantman and seriously damaged a cruiser and six merchantmen. Six British planes were shot down.” Subsequently the German High Command announced that German troops had entered Andalsnes, 100 miles southwest of Trondheim. “In unresting pursuit of the wildlyfleeing English, the German troops reached Andalsnes and raised the Reich jvar flag at 3 .p.m.” Thus the German Higji Command trumpeted the evacuation. The Germans claim the capture of enormous quantities of materials, munitions, vehicles, and mules.
