MONDAY’S WRESTLING
Matched with John Katan for a wrestling bout in the Town Hall, Wellington, on Monday night, Chief Little Wolf will make his first Wellington appearance in the ItMO season. Little Wolf. gained many admirers when he was last in M eilington, and his return is keenly awaited. Little Wolf can apply the Indian deathlock more quickly and with more certain results than most wrestlers, and he has a complete mastery over the more orthodox holds. He has already had two contests in Auckland this season, and in both of them he was most impressive, showing that he is fitter, faster, and more guileful than before. Few wrestlers have created in New Zealand such an excellent initial impression us Katan, whose sensational beating of “Lofty” Blomfield in Wellington last Monday has made him the talk of the country. Katan has size and strength, and is also an acconuplishi4l wrestler who can use a wide variety of holds. . He has had wide experience against high-elass opposition in the United States and Canada, and, in addition to beating Earl McCready, the Empire champion, lias accounted for a number of men who have held the world title. Katan still has some unusual holds to display, and it will be interesting to see how he handles the elusive Little Wolf. The preliminaries, which will begin at S o’clock, will include a “semi-profes-sional” bout.
