STORY OF A PIGMY BOY;
“Saranga the Pigmy,” by Attilio Ga'tti (London: Hodder and Stoughton).
The Iltalian explorer, Clommander Gatitl, famous for his expeditions to Africa, and Id's remarkable travel narratives, in this book tells -the story of a Pigmy child during the period' of his emergence from boyhood to manhood. It is an absorbing tale, written by an acknowledged authority on a strange- race about which the average person knows little. Commander Gatti provides a vivid description of- the jungle in which the Pigmies live,-'tells of their encounters' with the wild animals, on their habits of life ami superstitions, and customs, combining all this with a fascinating narrative of the adventures which befall his principal character, the boy Saranga. His portrait of the boy carries immediate conviction, added interest being provided by Kurt Wiese’s striking illustrations.
