Wellington Association Gives Party

The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Trained Masseurs’ Association gave a sherry party to farewell Miss F. Shaw (Wanganui), and Miss Joy Reid (Dunedin), two masseuses going overseas. Dr. Marshall Macdonald proposed the health of Miss Shaw and Miss Reid, and on behalf of the association, wished them “good luck; Presentations were made to the guests of honour by Mrs. F. Dufaur (president), and before the party dispersed, Miss Mary Saunders thanked Miss I. G. Willis (matron-in-chief) for her helpfulness and kindness. '; t

Dufanr, I-lacon, Bishop (Masterton). and Black (Levin) ; Misses Bowen, Trimmer, Gibbons, James, O’Connor, Beath, Hutchison, Pacey, Engledine, Manthel, Wood, Falconer, Cameron, McGrath, Christie, Greenfield, Brown, Kane, Wylie, Nalder (Levin), Montgomery (Palmerston N.), McGre-i gor (Masterton), McLaren (Martinborough), anil Worsp (Auckland), Drs. Marshall Macdonald and lan Ewart.

At the annual meeting of the Hunterville branch of the W.D.F.U., the election of officefs resulted: President, Mrs. Weston; secretary, Mrs. Morrison; vicepresidents, Mesdames Roper, Abel, L. Hammond, and Scott-Maundrell; advisory members, Mesdames L. Hammond and K. Dalziell; provincial delegates, Scott-Mtrundrell and A. Bartlett; tea delegates, Mrs. Henwood and A. McAUey; housekeeping secretary, Mrs. Weston; Press correspondence, Mrs. D. Cameron. Afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Henwood and McAUey, assisted by members of the juniors, Mrs. Hirst was tlurnked for giving a picture to be disposed of for W.D.F.U. funds. A knitting club is to be formed to knit comforts for soldiers going to camp and overseas.
