CENTENNIAL “CAPPICADE”
Last Presentation Tonight
The students <>f Victoria University ■College will present their centennial “Ca-ppicade” in the New Opera House, Wellington-, for the last time tonight. Packed houses have so far greeted the ■performers, and the applause has been ■most enthusiastic. The songs and ballets from John Carrad’s exceptional musical interlude, “Nou Can’t Pick a Winner,” have been ■acclaimed the best original numbers in ■any “Cappieade.” “El Dorado” and "Ragtime Day” set audiences humming, .and the encores demanded of other numberg are many. “Centennial Scandals," the other outstanding feature of this year’s show, though a little more serious in mood, is full of wisecracks and fun. The dialogue is witty, it is bright, the high standard ■set by past extravaganzas being well (maintained. “'Centennial Scandals’ ■treats with the story of New Zealand, ■past, present—and future.
