PACIFIST POLITICIANS
Blame For Present War This war would never have occurred had not Britain been led at one stage b.v pacifist politicians; he would not say statesmen, because statesmen had vision, said Cr. Green, at the Petone Borough Council meeting last night iu farewelling the mayor. Mr. G. London, who is going into camp tomorrow. As an old soldier he regretted that the sons of those who fought before —tlie cream of the country—were going forth to fight, not where the men of the Great War had left off. but where they had started.
Those pacifist politicians had cut the Navy to a skeleton and the British Army had been reduced to a shadow. Meanwhile tlie Germans laughed, marched into the Rhineland and fortified this natural line of defence. This was the beginning of the present war. It was to be hoped that, when the present war was won the mad dog of Europe would have its teeth pulled so that there would be no recurrence of the present conflict.
