PRAISE FOR FIREMEN

Whole Job Very Well Organized Tlie highest admiration for the work of tlie firemen and other workers at tlie blaze was expressed by tlie Minister of Education. Mr. Fraser, and Hie chairman of tlie Wellington Fire Board, Mr. S. S. Dean. They said that the whole of the work of fighting, the lire bad been extremely well organized, and great praise was due to all those engaged in the work for tlie courageous way they bad tackled the job. The various organizations which had assisted’the Fire Brigade, such as the St. John Ambulance Brigade, the Red Cross Society, the Fire Police, city council traffic officers, were also deserving of the highest praise. The Fire Police had done invaluable work in moving motor-cars from tlie danger zone during the early stages of the fire. All the auxiliary organizations had also done very useful work in keeping the crowds from hindering the work of the brigadesinen. The spectators were to be commended for their consideration in keeping clear of the brigadesinen.
