BRITISH ARMY CHIEF TO VISIT FRANCE
To Inspect Maginot Line (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 28. 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY. March 27. Viscount Gort., Chief of the General Staff, is spending a few days in France at the invitation of General Gamelin, Chief of the French General Staff. He win see an exercise with troops and will visit the fortifications of the Maginot Line. The invitation was given personally by General Gamelin when Lord Gort passed through Paris last mon Hi on bis return from EgyptHe is travelling by air to France tomorrow, and will be accompanied by Major-General H. R. Pownall, Director of Military Operations and Intelligence, and other staff officers.
