Qualities Of White Bread A further challenge intended to show the shortcomings of white breird has been issued by Mr. Edward Julius Price, Mr. E. W. Hullett, the Wheat Research Institute’s chemist, not having taken up his challenge to a race of 40 mites. “I want, to challenge anybody in New Zealand over 50—mid that is a lot younger than I am —that 1 will live longer o« 'vater than they can on water and white bread,” he said to “The Dominion” yesterday. The white bread, he said, would cause constipation and self-poisoning within a few days. _ Mr. Price, who gave a series ot successful lectures in Wellington last year, returned recently from a tour of America and Europe, studying ortn<b dox and unorthodox methods of promoting health with Mrs. Price, lhej were in Germany during the Czechoslovak crisis, visiting sanatoria near the Czechoslovak frontier. Mr. and Mrs. Price saw the Hygiene Exhibition in Germany, in which were some extraordinary working models of the human body, which illustrated such things as the'working of the alimentary tract with, the body in various positions. Mr. Price said that, though war seemed imminent while they were at the exhibition, and they were close to the border, all the Germans went about their work normally. The people knew the international situation, and, in fact, lie believed the Germans knew more about it than the British. Numerous voting people told I hem that they did not waul war but were not afraid 01 it Thev did not want to light Great Britain,'and felt that the two nations could dominate the world if they cooperated. Mr. and Mrs. Price were most hospitably received by the Germans.
