Education In Citizenship Its Foremost Aim Education in citizenship was the foremost aim of the Townswomen’s Guild, said Miss Jerome Spencer, president of the Dominion Federation of the Townswomen’s Guild, at the March meeting of the Lower Hutt branch. Women had gained the vote at great cost and it was necessary that they learn how Io use it, she said. Women should in terest I hemselves in municipal affairs, in the funds expended and in the operation of such supplies as water and milk. Questions of the day, particularly those concerning their own country, should be discussed by the guilds. Mrs. A. W. Deans, secretary of the Dominion Federation and of the Hastings Townswomen's Guild, also spoke. Mrs. C. Moran, who presided, was reelected president. The following committee was elected: Mesd.imes W. Benstead. E. McLeod. F. Eddie, G. Nicholson. C. Ross, A. McDiarmid. D. Murray, Dickson and Painter.
