FIRST-AID DEPOT

Work Of St. John And Free Ambulances Tlie St. John Ambulance Nursing Division, with the assistance of the Free Ambulance, established a firstaid depot in the Orient Cafe, Victoria Street, soon after tlie outbreak of tire. About 14 casualties were treated, including two civilians. Most of those injured were suffering from burns, cuts from glass, and abrasions caused by falling timber. About, three firemen were taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. One fireman, while suppressing fire on the roof of the Majestic Theatre, fell through a skylight, but was not seriously injured. The St. John Ambulance expressed deep appreciation of the assistance of the cafe authorities, who provided hot tea and toast for those working at the lire.
