AVALANCHE TOLL

Casualties In French Village TOULOUSE, March 26. The death roll in the avalanches which half buried the village of Bareges, now numbers 27. A fresh avalanche swept over the village today. Residents on the outskirts- lowered, 40 villagers to safety from the top stories. The additional casualties are not known. The damage is estimated at £20,000. Skiers are taking food to 38 isolated workmen. The bodies of 13 of the victims, of the first avalanches on March 24 have been recovered.
