Jones. .Minister of Defence, returned to Wellington from Dunedin by aeroplane yesterday. The Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, returned to Wellington from the north yesterday. The Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Labour, will leave "Wellington for Westport by aeroplane today. The Hou. W. E. Parry. Minister of Internal Affairs, returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday.
Mr. A. L. Wall, "Wellington, travelled to Auckland yesterday by air. Mr. J. P. O’Connor arrived at Wellington yesterday from Auckland. Mr. S. Carruthers travelled, by air from Wellington to Auckland yesterday. Mr. C. H. Mitchell. Wellington, travelled north last night by the Limited express. Sir Charles Norwood was a passenger from Wellington by air to Auckland yesterday. Major-General J. E. Duigan, Chief of the General Staff, returned to Wellington yesterday after a short visit to Auckland. Mr. Harold Gatty, New Zealand representative of Pan-American Airways, was an arrival at Wellington yesterday from Auckland. Mr. A. Wyness, "Wellington, managing director of His Master’s Voice (N.Z.) Lfd., was a passenger for the north last night by the Limited express. Mr. J. H. Lindon, Wellington, general manager for New Zealand of the Vacuum Oil Co. Pty. Ltd., was a passenger for Auckland yesterday by ait*. .Mr. Barry Caulfeild, the English ski instructor, will be visiting Mount oCok for the winter sports season this year. Mr. Caulfeild has already speut'several seasons at Mount Cook. Mr. Cecil Mason, Sydney, general manager for Columbia Pictures in Australia and New Zealand, will arrive at Wellington in the Awatea from Sydney today. He expects to be in Wellington for some days. Mr. G. McNamara will relinquish his duties as Director-General of the Post anti Telegraph Department on Friday next. On April Ihe will begin three months’ leave of absence, during which time the director-general-elect, Mr. J. G. Young, will assume the .duties of the senior position. Mt. J. W. Baty, who has been registrar of the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association for the last 10 years, has found it necessary to resign because of ill-health. Appreciative reference to his services is made iu the annual report of the association, the council of which has recommended his election as a life member. Mr. M. J. Reardon left Wellington last night for Greymouth, where he will hold a sitting of the Conciliation Council, returning at the end of the week.
Mr. E. J. Riches, New Zealand economist on the staff of the International Labour Office of the League of Nations at Geneva, is at present in Wellington. He is to leave Auckland on April 11 on his way back to Geneva for the 1.L.0. conference, which is to begin ou June 8.
