Victoria League Hospitality. Among the passengers who arrived at Wellington by the Dominion Monarch on Saturday, were live members of the Victoria League in South Africa, who have been shown hospitality in various pleasant ways by members of Hie Wellington branch of the league over tlie week-end. On Saturday morning, Mr. and Mrs. Burford and Miss Burford, Mrs. Seals Wood and Mrs. F. Goodall were the guests of two Wellington members, Mrs. C. E. Carter and Mrs. J. Barrington Smythe, at morning tea in the D.I.U. In tlie afternoon, Mrs, 0. C. Mazengarb had as het- guests, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilson, East London, and Mrs. Goodall. Durban, taking them for a motor drive round Wellington environs. A visit to a Wairarapa sheep station was arranged for Mr. and Mrs. Burford and their daughter on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday afternoon Mrs. Carter arranged a motor drivefor Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Goodall. Yesterday morning Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilson were the guests of Mrs. D. Rodie, Miss Rodie and Mrs Barrington Smythe for morning coffee, and in the afternoon Mrs. Rodie arranged a visit for them to some well-known Wellington gardens.
South African Visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilson, East London. South Africa, who arrived at Wellington by the Dominion Monarch, left last night for st Lour of the South Island. They will leave New Zealand by the Aora’ngi, and will visit Honolulu and England before returning home. Members Congratulated.
Members were congratulated on a successful year’s activities at the annual meeting of the Paraparaumu Women’s Institute on Tuesday. The report showed increased membership, 62 women now belonging to the institute. Various educational and social gatherings and two flower shows were held during the year and at the annual institutes’ festival the choir gained a third place and the tableaux a second place. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mrs G. Hadfield: vice-presidents, Mesdames Dewar, Phipps and Miss K. Stocker; committee, Mesdames Delahunty, Fitchett, G. Maclean, Hardham, Wilkinson, Hay and Misses E. Lynch, R. Maclean and N. Hammond: secretary, Mrs. Smart: treasurer, Mrs. 11. Pascoe: librarian, Mrs. Dewar.
Bouquets of Howers were presented to Mrs. W. Delahunty, the retiring president, Mrs. G. Hadfield, the retiring secretary, Mrs. 11. Pascoe, treasurer find to Miss Cotter, who was present representing the federation executive.
Street Day Returns. The Y.W.C.A. street day. which was held in Wellington last Wednesday, resulted in the snm of £l4B/11/11 being added, to the association’s funds. This was collected at various points of the city, and at three stalls. The Y.W.C.A. is most grateful to the many people who helped with -the arrangements, and the collecting, and also those members of tlie public who generously supported the effort.
l*i-c-Wedding Party. A pleasant pre-wedding “kitchen” tea party was given recently in honour of MisS W. 'White, Wellington, at tlie home of Mrs. 11. J. Tolley, Northland. Mrs. Tolley and Mrs. I. L. Andrews were joint hostesses.
The guests were entertained in the drawing-room, which was brightly decorated with beautiful dahlias Musical items were given by Mrs. Meg Porter, and a competition was won by Mrs. E. Hicks. After tea the guest of honour opened the lovely gifts which her friends had brought for her. Tlie guests were: Mesdames E. Pankhurst, C. Godber. G. Tapping, T. Turvey, L. Lowe, W. Sherring, M. Bumfrev, M. Porter, R. Stout. H. Moston, E. Hicks, R. Hall, B. Wylde; Misses Winnie White, Rita Mclntyre, D. Whitelaw, D. Holloway. N. Ballinger. Guides Farewell Friend. The committee of the Weraiti Company of the Masterton Girl Guides held n farewell party at the home of Airs. Gaskin to say goodbye to Mrs. G. F. Hill, who has taken an interest in tlie guides and brownies for many years. The presentation of a crystal rosebowl on behalf of the committee was made by Mis. J. 11. Irving, president of tlie executive, and as a parting gift the Brownies gave Mrs. Hill a crystal powder bowl. Among those present were Mesdames Stewart. J. H. Irving, J. Aikmaii, Corskie. Thomas, L. Hunter, Andrew, Judd, and the Misses Ratcliffe and Patricia Thomas. Women T’eaeliers.
The annual meeting of the New Zealand Women Teachers’ Association was held recently. Miss Tankersley presided over a large gaihering, and the annual report, and balance-sheet were presented. The following oflieers were elected: President, .Miss M. Wiggins: vicepresidents. Miss .1. Tankersley and Mrs. A. Foully: secretary. Miss M. Admove: treasurer, Miss L. Coleman;
committee, Mrs. .1. Dodds. .Misses J Sellar, Hogg. E. Calwell. Goodall, J. Rayne and Kitchener.

Personal. Mrs. G. F. Hill, Mastertdh, left sit the weekend to take up her residence in Wellington.
