ROAD WALKING
Wellington Club’s Final Event The Wellington Road Walking Club's season was concluded on Saturday, when the Hutt Road walk for the D.C.L. Cup attracted a field of nine keen members. The weather was not of the best, but improved considerably later. The course was from the Star Boating Club’s shed out to Petone railway crossing and return. In a good finish McCarthy won from O. Pederson by 1.0 yards, with Sinclair 200 yards back’ third. The D.C.L. Cup goes to the winner of the handicap section of the race, D. Pederson. Results: — Handicap and D.C.L, Cup : D. Pederson (3min.), 1: D. Sinclair (4min.), 2; .N. McCarthy (scr.), 3. Fastest, time: N. McCarthy, 1; D. Pederson, 2; D. Sinclair, 3. Time, 2.7.11.
