RINGS ON POSTS AS WARNINGS
Black and white rings painted on posts al the Papanui township arc an experiment by llie Trallic Department of the Christchurch City Council to indicate llie presence of pedestrian crossings. Several visiting motorists who have seen the posts have expressed the opinion that they are a decided benefit, and it is thought that possibly the Transport Department might contaler the system suitable for adoption is a standard throughout New Zealand.
