The owners would not sell except upon their own terms, which were not those of tlie would-be purchasers. The rates paid on the lot during the time it has lain fallow must have been considerable. The section Ims a frontage to Oriental Parade of 501'1. by a depth of 133 ft. ■lin., which gives an area of 23.7 perches.
