Effect Of European Situation (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, -March 24. The turn of events in Europe is now directly affecting wool-producing countries, owing to the dislocation of textile exports to certain nations. The German acquisition of Memel has caused a standstill in Yorkshire’s valuable export wool trade with Lithuania, at least for the time being. No Yorkshire firm is at present willing to risk shipping goods to Memel. Business with Czechoslovakia and Rumania is now impossible.
