Marell 24. .■V firmer tone was evident iu the sale for fill sheep at tlie Feiltling stock sale today, sonic good-quality ewee making increased prices. Lambs and wethers also were ia good demand. Despite the fairly large entry, practically the whole of the offering was sold at miction. Store sheep were easier in price, mainly because of lack of quality. Attractive lines of twolooth ewes were quite up to recent rates, but there were only a few of these offering. Aged ewes were not of the type required. Very few cattle were yarded in either the store or the beef sections, the sale for cattle iu the beef section being slow. Quotations are
Sheep: Prime ewes, 13/- to 13/9. second quality 11/6 to 12/9, lighter .10/to 11/3; prime wethers. 19/10 to 20/7, medium 18/6 to 19/6, unfinished 16/10 to 18/-; b.f. two-toothe, heavy 20/3 to 21/9, light 17/8 to 18/9; prime quality lambs 21/-, second grade 18/- to 19/7, unfinished 13/7 to 17/7; two-tooth ewes, good 31/6, smaller 24/7 to 25/3, backward 17/6 to 23/8; five-year ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, 12/to 1.3/9; m.a. ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, 10/6. Cattle: Light prime cows, £5/10/- to £6, unfinished £3/10/- to £4/17/6; heavy runners, £3/15/-; boner cows, £l/15/to £3/2/6; IS-month steers, £4/4/-; cows and calves, £3/12/6; weaner heifers, £2 to £3/5/-; heifers, calved, £5/5/- to £6/5/-. Poultry: Hens, 1/5 to 3/9; pullets, 7/6 to 8/6, small 2/7 to 3/9; cockerels, 1/6 to 3/10; ducks, 1/4 to 2/6.
Pigs: AA’eaners, 4/- to 6/6; slips, 5/to 9/-.
