TARTAN BOW FOR BRIDE

Smith —Andrews Wedding A. veil of brnssels lace worn over her face during the ceremony, enriched the tonings of the bride's ivory slipper satin gown with its sweeping circular train, when Miss Mary Doreen Andrews was married in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Pahiatua, recently. Orange blossom eaught up the train at intervals and made a coronet for her veil. Cream gladioli tied with tartan ribbons gave a picturesque touch to the bridal ensemble.

Two bridesmaids, both from Wanganui, attended the bride in shell pink net frocks over pink taffeta. Redingote styled, the dresses toned with veiled headdresses of pleated net. Botli maids, Miss Dorothy Rasmusen and Miss Nola Lynch, carried mauve and pink sweet peas. The bride, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Andrews, Pahiatua, was given away by her father. The bridegroom, Mr. Grant James McGregor Smith, is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Smith, Apirana, Hamua. The Rev. J. M. Simpson, Masterton, performed the ceremony. Mr. Gotland Grant. Dannevirke, was best man, and Mr. Keith Smith, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman. A reception was given at the home ot Mrs. East, Mangaho Road, Mrs. Andrews, the bride’s mother, receiving the guests in a smart black frock, black picture hat and fur coat. 'Mrs. Smith and Mrs. McDonald, the bridegroom’s sister, assisted her, Mrs. Smith in a navy and white french frock and navy hat and Mrs. McDonald wearing navy sheer and matching hat. The bride’s travelling frock was cornflower blue, in tunic style, with hemline pattern of daisies carried out in white seed beading, worn with navy accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s future home is in Dannevirke..
