BRISBANE, March 24,

Mr. George Pollock, aged 49, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, was found shot dead in a room of his suite in Parliament House today. A shotgun was near the body.

The police are satisfied that he was not the victim 'of foul play. Mr. Pollock had been speaker for seven years and a Member of Parliament since 1915.
