NEW PRESIDENT

Wellington Manufacturers’ Association MR. IL H. HIGGINS RESIGNS For business reasons Mr. H. H. Higgins has resigned his position as president of the Wellington Manufacturers’ Association. Mr. W. Stevens has been appointed to fill the vacancy. Mr. Stevens has for some time been chairman of the manufacturing chemists’ trade group of the association. He is also chairman of the Chemists’ Plan Industrial Committee, set up under the Industrial Efficiency Act. The resignation of Mr. Higgins was accepted with regret at a meeting of the council of the association this week.

Mr. J. T. Spears, immediate, pastpresident of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, said he desired to express his appreciation of the services rendered to the association and the federation by Mr. Higgins, and to place on record the very able and efficient manner, in which Mr. Higgins had carried out his duties.
