Spencer Tracy And Loretta Young Together

JZ"EEN interest is always aroused in picturegoers when a new screen team is announced. “Man’s Castle” brings Spencer Tracy and Loretta Young together in one of the most poignant and moving love stories filmed for some time. Both Tracy and Miss Young have appeared in scores of excellent films.

Frank Borzage, the director, makes the film tell a homely love story with a pathos and moving force which sweeps the spectator along. In spite of G. K. Chesterton’s observation, “It is remarkable when we consider how much happiness love has doubtless given to mankind as a whole, that mankind has never pointed to any great historical example of a hero and heroine wedded in a way entirely worthy of them.” The new picture, “Man’s Castle,” presents a picture of a slum girl creating a home for a man in a squalid community on the New York waterfront, so that their touching romance ends happily in a way that is convincing and certain. The film will be shown in New Zealand theatres shortly.
