Draft Of International Rules Received Dominion Special Service. FEILDING, March 21. Delegates and players from all poloplaying centres in the North Island attended the annual meeting of the New Zealand Polo Association, over which the president, Mr. G. 11. Wilson, presided. The annual report recorded that during the year the following new clubs were affiliated : Pukekawa club, Waiapu club, Auckland club, Hikutaia elub. The Te Anau and Feilding clubs resigned at the close of the year. Clubs on the register of affiliated clubs numbered 27. Steps were taken by the Hurljngham Polo Committee to set up a committee to draft international rules and copies of these had been received for review. The idea of the international rules was to obtain some uniformity between the rules observed in India, America and England. In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman referred to the success of tiie New Zealand team in Sydney and said that polo in New Zealand had improved. He referred also to the need for additional grounds and congratulated members on the good financial position of the association, paying a tribute to the work of the secretary, Mr. K. M. Little. The election of officers resulted :— Patron, the Goveror-General, Lord Galway; president. Mr. G. H. Wilson ; vicepresident. Mr. D. 11. S. Riddiford ; committee, Messrs. W. R. Duncan (Taihape), G. de V. Chitty. Harold Wilson and G. Vosper (Waikato), R. Q. Mackenzie (Hawke's Bay); secretary, Mr. K. M. Little; treasurer, Mr. Rex. McKelvie; auditor, Mr. A. H. Maguire (Feilding). , In a discussion on the need for twol
playing areas, the president suggested that the committee of management might interview the Feilding Jockey Club with the object of ascertaining what could be done to provide at least a suitable area for practice. A sub-committee comprising the president and Messrs. McKelvie and IV. R. Dunean was set. up to take the steps indicated. With the object of providing more polo for visiting teams at the annual Savile Cup tournament. Mr. I. Bunny (Masterton) suggested that something should be ~lpne toward introducing ; the yankee tourney principle, as the present knock-out contests did not give the visitors sufficient play. The subject was debated at length, and it was agreed to recommend the committee of management to draft out proposals far submission, to elubs.
