Wright has received the following cabled report on the Colombo ten auction of March 21: At yesterdays sale of 2,759,0001 b. all grades were iu good demand. Common kinds were firm, medium slightly irregular, and tine teas remained unchanged at last week's rates. At next week’s auction 2,250,0001 b. will be offered to buyers. Australian Price Of Gold The price fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold, including jewellery, lodged nt the Melbourne Mint for the week ended March 10 is at. the rate of approximately £B/9/41 an ounce standard (22 carats), equal to a premium of 117.47 per cent. This is 2Jd. lower than last week s price. The price an ounce line is £9/4/9, which is 3d. down on the week. Payment is made according to the assay value of the gold.
