BADMINTON
Y.M.C.A. Club’s Meeting
Though rather early in the year, the Y.M.C.A. Badminton Club's annual meeting held on Saturday evening was well attended. Mr. S. G. Eames presided.
The following officers were elected : — President. Mr. IV. J. Melody: vice-presi-dents. Messrs. V. C. Jones, G. A. Pearce mid J. L. White: elub captain. Mr. W. Al. Morten; secretary. Mr. E. H. Bishop; committee, Messrs. S. Richards, J. G. Macdonald. Misses J. Catchpole, L. McNeill, N. Thompson. Mention was made of the club’s excellent position at the end of its first year. It was- decided to become affiliated to the Wellington Badminton Association and to enter n team in the association’s C grade competition. If sufficient support was evidenced a second team would be entered. An offer by Mr. G. A. Pearce to donate to the club a challenge trophy, to remain the property of the club, with a miniature to lie retained by the winner each year, was received with applause. Mr, .1. r • Hanna also offered u trophy for ladder competition.
