OVERSEAS DELEGATES
Women's Pon-Pacific
Conference News is already to hand as to the nationality of Some of the delegates to the Pan-Pacific Women’s Association Conference which will be held in Wellington in 19-10. Canada expects to send at least 10. India will be well represented; the Begum Hamed Ali of Baroda, who lias had a notable connexion with the All-India Women’s Committee, has accepted an invitation to attend. Bani Rajwade, the president of rhe All-India Conference Committee, expects to be present; and Rajkumari Amrit Kaur will come if time can be spared from her work. China, Japan, and the Philippine Islands will be represented. One of the Japanese delegates will probably be Mrs. Taku Komai, who was their leader at the Vancouver conference in 1937. It will be of special interest to meet
delegates from China. Jilts. Lo, writing from Chungking, sftys: “Though I have been in the midst of the horrors of an aggressive war, my interest in the Pan-Pacific Women’s Association has not decreased. I believe that the noble efforts of the association for international understanding and goodwill will bear fruit in the long run.” She adds that Chinese women hope to be able to send delegates, but are not yet able to make plans, “for reasons which are obvious to you.”
New York hostesses who might be likely to entertain Their Majesties when the King and Queen visit the United States this summer are already discussing various ways of decorating their homes. What flowers should they choose and how to arrange them? Knowing the Queen’s love of roses, one hostess has decided that she will have long curtains of fresh roses hanging in her reetption rooms. A favourite form of floral decoration in New York is to frame long mirrors on the wall with fresh roses or gardenias.
