Holder Of Travelling Scholarship By Telegraph— Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 15. A tour that is to be at once a honeymoon and the result of signal success nt Auckland University College is to be begun next Tuesday by Mr. T. !•’. 11 augi i e y, Auckland. On the eve of his marriagv, which took place tonight, Mr. llaughey received advice that he had been awarded the New’ Zealand University’s travelling scholarship in architecture, which will enable him to pursue postgraduate studies in his profession for two years overseas. Mr. llaughey was married tonight to Miss Marjorie Pettit, M.A.. daughter of Dr. W. 11. Pettit, Ponsonby Hoad, and also a graduate of Auckland University College. On Tuesday, Mr and Mrs. llaughey will leave Auckland by the Niagara and will spend about six weeks in the United States before going on to England Mr. llaughey particularly wants to study the architectural side of the San Francisco International Exhibition. In England. Mr. llaughey intends to follow in the footsteps of a previous holder of the scholarship, Mr. It II Toy. also of Auckland, who is to lecture in architecture at Auckland University College when he returns to New’ Zealand. Mr. llaughey, therefore, will ad”ance a thesis for the degree of Master of Arts in architeclure at Liverpool University.
