March 15. \ larger proportion than usual of bullocks was offered in the fat cattle yardiii" at tin* Burnside stock sale today, but the majority were of medium size, only a few being in ihe prime heavy grades. The larger offering caused an easing m v-dues ft the start and this became more apparent as Ihe sale progressed Prime sorts were down by 10/- a head, and other descript ions easel] by as much as 20/-. Prime heavy bullocks ninth' to £l7-'l2/6: prime. £l2/10/- to £l4; medium. £lO/12/6 to £ll/15/-; and light, down !<■ £7/15/-: prime heavy cows and heifers to £l2; prime. £B/5/- to £9 7/6; medium. £5/12/6 to £6/17/6; aad li'dit. from £4. In ihe store pens a line of three and four-yenr steers tn forward condition brought to £l3. Medium and light ewes were prominent in the penning of 1817 fat sheep, aad from the start there was a keen demand for wethers, which brought 1/- more than late parity The demand was filled later, and medium wethers were 1/- to 2/below opening values when the sale finished. Prime heavy wethers brought to 36/6; prime, 22/6 to 24/-: medium. 18/6 to 20/6: and light, from 16/-; prime heavy ewes, to 17/-; prime, 12/6 to 14/-'; medium, 9/G to 10/6; find light, to 7/6. Butchers competed keenly for heavy lambs, 650 head being forward in the fat lamb pens, and prime heavy sorts made to 27/-, and primes 21/- to 22/6: medium sorts. 17/6 to 19/-; and light, from 15/6.
Fat pigs were in short supply and those offered sold in good competition. Baeonvrs brought from £3/15/- to £4/9/-. and porkers from £2/19/- to £3/11)/- a head.
