EXODUS FROM ITALY
Proscribed Jews Wander Over Alpine Passes (Independent Cable Service.) PARIS, March 13. Police, using searchlights, worked all night in snow-covered alpine passes on the Italian border trying to cope with a rush of Jews endeavouring to escape before Signor Mussolini’s antiJewish laws are enforced.
It is estimated that 5000 women and children are wandering in “no man’s laud.” Comparatively few of them have visas. Others have turned back.
