Bidding At Waipukurau Sale Quiet Dominion Special Service. WAIPUKURAU. March 14. Bidding was quiet at the Waipukurau weekly stock sale today, when a small yarding, mostly of store sheep, was submitted before a very limited assemblage of buyers. No cattle were penned. Prime Southdown cross two-tooths brought 15/to 15/3: maiden two-tooth ewes, prime, 15/7 ; and average killable ewes. 8/4. In the store section 201 six-year ewes, aged, sold at 8/8. One hundred and six med-ium-grown woolly Romney cross ewe lambs, fresh-conditioned, "made 15/7: Others, 14/6 and 12/G; and 73 late shorn five-year ewes, well mouthed but light, 9/6. An entry of 98 four-tooth to four-yeur forward ewes, Southdown cross, r.W. rams from March 1. brought 9/-; and a line of well-framed Corriedale cross forward wethers 13/-.

Satisfactory Pedigree Pig Sale In Palmerston North PALMERSTON N„ March 14. At the MunawaturOroua Pig Breeders’ Association’s annual autumn nig sale, held in the Palmerston North Showgrounds last week. an offering of 139 pedigree pigs included animals of all breeds, more than 60 per cent.., however, being Berkshires. Despite this large entry of Berkshires the competition for them was excellent, an average of 6gns. being obtained fur the boars and of sgns. for the sows. The balance of the entry was comprised mainly of Tamworths and Large Blacks, and they also sold well, a particularly choice line of Largo Black sows averaging Gjgns. Buyers were present from the Manawatu. Horowhenua. Witirantpa, Waikato and Wanganui districts, and all expressed their appreciation of the excellent standard of the offering.
