THESPIAN PRODUCTION

Probably the strongest cast ever to appear in an amateur production in Wellington is engaged in the Thespian presentation of Dorothy and Campbell Christie's famous comedy-thriller. "Someone at the Door,” which will open a season of three nights in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall. Wellington, on Saturday. Those taking part include Selwtn Toogood, last seen as the leading comedian in “Aren’t Men Beasts! ; 11. A. Painter, who has a change from the usual Cockney roles he plays with such distinction; Myles F. E. Ilriglit and R. J Larkin, both of whom will be remembered for outstanding portrayals in 'Hie School for Scandal*; John McCreary; Arthur Rayner; and Joan Goodwin, who plavs charmingly the only feminine role. The humour and the thrills in ‘ Someone at the Door” arise naturally out of the plot itself as the play unfolds, and this is probably the secret of its success wherever it has been played The play is being produced by Victor S. Lloyd, the director of the Thespians. The stage niflnaffcr is Evan Harrowcll, th<? properties are in the care of Susie Painter, and the prompter is Jack McLeod.
