Higginson, a member of the board and also a trustee of the orphanage. He had given £lOOO for the site of the orphanage, £lO,OOO as a trust fund for the maintenance of the institution, and £6OO toward the building. The balance of the building trust is being raised by public subscription.

Mr. Higginson stated that the same donor had given £73,000 toward orphanage funds in Auckland.
