Centre Conference In Napier

Representatives of the Wellington, Napier and Wanganui 'Weight-Lifting Associations mot in Napier last weekend to discuss the future control and organization of the sport. The secretary of the New Zealand association, Mr. K. R. Mitchell, who presided, outlined a scheme for the formation of district committees to control the sport in the various centres and to assist in local physical culture displays. He reported good progress in membership and activities in the centres, making special mention of the work done during the National Fitness Week. Other reports were made by Mr. L. Harris, Hawke’s Bay,

and Mr. S. J. Nolan, Wanganui, aud keen discussion followed. Details concerning the New Zealand weight-lifting championships, to be held in Auckland on October 23 and 25. were arranged. The realFing of an address on the future of the sport, prepared by the Health and Strength League, England, concluded the conference.
