HARD OF HEARING

Work Of Wellington

Branch A demonstration of the work of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand League for the Hard of Hearing will be given in the branch’s rooms, Beehive Chambers, Courtenay Place, on Thursday afternoon and evening. The mayor and mayoress, city councillors, the Minister of Education, the Minister of Health and the Minister of Internal Affairs, local members of Parliament, presidents of societies, the DirectorGeneral of Health and the chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board are among those who have been invited to attend.

On Friday morning there will he a morning tea at James Smith’s at 10.30, followed by a demonstration in the league's rooms at 11.30. This session is for the presidents of women’s organizations. On Friday afternoon and in the evening the rooms will be open to the general public. On Saturday a picnic lias been arranged for the student members of the league, all of whom have assisted or are assisting in the work connected with the functions.

The celebrations are to be known us “Hearing Days.” The campaign has been arranged to draw the attention of the public to the means whereby the effects of deafness may be minimized or overcome.
