DOMINION VISIT

Salvation Army Leader Commissioner David Cuthbert, managing director of the Salvation Army Assurance Society, London, will arrive at AVellington by the AVanganella this morning from Sydney on a visit to the Dominion. Born in Perth, Scotland, Commissioner Cuthbert began work there as a journalist. Following the advent of the Salvation Army in Perth, he joined it and became an officer in 1884, taking up secretarial work. Five years later he became private secretary to Commissioner Carleton, then in charge of the army’s trading affairs. After 20 years’ service for the army's assurance society, he was appointed director of the Salvation Army Emigration Department, London, and later assistant secretary for trade affairs. He became governor of Hie Hadleigli Farm Colony in 1924, ami held this appointment till he became managing director of Hie assurance society.
