University Scholars For 1939 SHIRTCLIFFE HONOURS Post Graduate And Senior Scholarships The Shirtcliffe Scholarship Selection Committee, set up under the gift to the University of New Zealand of £20,000 in 1935 by Sir George Shirtcliffe, Wellington, has made the following awards: —

Travelling Scholarship in Engineering: J. C. North, Canterbury. British Council Dominion Scholarship: For this scholarship the council will select a scholar from among the following: A. R. Low, Canterbury, AV. D. Borrie, Otago, and H. Hudson, Otago.

AA’ifh regard to the Carnegie Scholarships, it was resolved to nominate the following: G. B. Bea th, Otago. A. J. Campbell, Otago and Canterbury. It was also resolved to nominate J. G. Caughley, Canterbury, for the Imperial Kelations Trust travelling stuclentship. Prizes Awarded. The following prizes have also been awarded: — Cook Memorial Prize: Theodora Marsh, Otago. Awards for the 1851 Exhibition Science Research Scholarship, the Post Graduate Scholarship in Science, and the Shirtcliffe Fellowship, are conditional upon the approval by the commissioners for the 1851 Exhibition Scholarship of the nomination forwarded.
