WANGANUI TRACKS

W. Rayner’s Team Fit Dominion Special Service. WANGANUI, March 11. Much-needed rnin fell overnight and during training operations this morning, taking the sting out of the going. The course proper was open for fast work, the trestles being out 15 feet, and the track in good order, though a trifle dead. W. Rayner will leave for Trentham on Wednesday with his team of three—Entail, Submission, and Homily. Entail is not engaged till the second day. The trio will race at Awapuni before returning home. The first to work this morning were Entail (W. Rayner) and Homily (F. Latham), and they sprinted six furlongs, registering 1.17, without being extended. No rider has been engaged so far for Homily in the Railway Handicap, in which she promises to make a bold showing. ns she is very lit. .Submission (W. Rayner) had Darthura (R. Horne) ns a companion in a half-mile spin. Submission began smartly and Jed all the way, galloping very freely to run the distance in a simile under 50sec.. Darthura taking 50 3-ssec. Submission will be ridden in the Pacific Handicap by W. J. Jenkins, and she should give a good account of herself, as she is an improving filly. Eurotas (R. Horne) went: half a mile by himself in 51 see. He will probably race at the Mannwatu meeting. Amigo has gone on the right way since Wanganui. He is to run in the Railway Handicap, in which he is likely to run prominently, though his owner-trainer, Mr. L. G. Paul, would have preferred to have taken in the 'Thompson Handicap had a snilable rider been available. Homily has been left in the Groat Northern Oaks and St. Reger, and Submission in (he Great Northern Champagne Stakes, and if their Trentham form is up to oxpeel a I ions they will make the trip north at Easter,
