Tlie Byrd expedition also participated in the festivities, holding a dance exhibition and musical programme, special rations being served. Little America also tuned-in to the nationwide birthday ball broadcast at which President Roosevelt spoke. briefly thanking patrons for their aid in the campaign against infantile paralysis.
