Warner Releases

is the keynote of Warner Bros. First National Pictures for their early releases during 1935. One of the first is “British Agent,” Bruce Lockhart’s famous novel of his own adventurous life in Russia during the revolution. Kay Francis and Leslie Howard are co-starred for the first time and form an admirable combination. “A Lost Lady" stars Barbara Stanwyck and she is supported by Ricardo Cortez and Frank Morgan. Aline MacMahon is an actress of no mean ability and she has to her credit a series of dramatic successes. While tragedy and comedy present no real difficulties to her, perhaps her best type of role is that of a sophisticated comedienne. She has this type cf character to portray in “Big-Heavted Herbert.” Others in the cast are Guy Kibbee and Patricia Ellis. “Happiness Ahead” is a timely title as it suggests to us present-day conditions with the promise of better things ahead. Dick Powell, Josephine Hutchinson, Frank Morgan and Allan Jenkins Inject clean and healthy happiness into their various roles which makes' the picture one of universal appeal. Joe Brown will always be remembered by his oversized mouth, and in tlie “Six-Day Bike Rider” he has one of his funniest roles. These pictures represent a few of the many from Warner Bros, during 1935.

Mr. Jack Hulbert and his chin have launched themselves into production again under the guidance of Walter Forde. His new film, again on the familiar comedy-thriller lines, is a new venation of Sapper's famous Bulldog Drummond theme and the rapid and Imirraising plot is guaranteed to give filmgoers their full quota of the long-legged light-heartedness of their hero.
