Canonisation Considered (Received January 30, 7.20 p.m.) Vatican City, January 30. The Pope presided at a secret congregation to consider the canonisation of Sir Thomas More and John Fisher. The meeting lasted three hours. It is understood that all agreed that the miracles attributed to More and Fisher were authentic, and that they deserved canonisation. The Pope will announce his decision in a few days It is anticipated that the canonisation will take place at Saint Peter’s early in May. A cable dated January 20 stated that it was expected that the four hundredth anniversary of the martyrdom of Thomae More and John Fisher, who were beheaded in 1535 and beatified in 1887, will be celebrated by their canonisation. His Holiness the Pope was receiving thousands of letters from England urging that More and Fisher were devoted supporter.! of Papal supremacy, aud the sacrament) of marriage, which are important principles to-day,,
