GOERING DETERMINED
Dead General’s Name Not to be Cleared BITTERNESS REVIVED Berlin, January 28. Despite several weeks’ negotiations between Herr Hitler aud the Reichswehr generals regarding the late General von Schleicher’s rehabilitation. General Goering is determined that the name of the murdered general shall not be cleared. Interviewed by a Nazi newspaper, General Goering accuses von Schleicher of seeking to engineer a revolt on January 29, 1933, the day before Herr Hitler took office as Chancellor. General Goering’s statement has revived the bitterness existing before Herr Hitler promised the army leaders to clear the name of von Schleicher. General Goering doubtless guessed the storm the interview would cause, as he has left Berlin for Poland, leaving Herr Hitler and his colleagues to face the music. General Goering is hunting in the Bialoweiza forest in East Poland, where elaborate precautions are being taken to protect the visitor from possible assassination.
