Dundee quotation, £l7/12/6 a ton (£l7/7/6). Copra: February-March shipment, nominally. South Sea. £ll/10/- a ton (£l2) ; smoked, £ll/1.0/- a ton (£l2) ; (’ant'ation Rnbaul, £l2/5/- a ton (£l2 15/-). i Linsebd oil: £22/10/- a ton (£2l/15/-). Turpentine: 48/3 a cwt. (same). NET PROFIT HIGHER Christchurch Gas Company lly Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch. January 27. A not profit of £27,317/18/4 is disclosed in the balance-sheet of the Christchurch Gas. Coal and Coke Company. Ltd., for the year ended December 31, 193-1, compared with £21,489 last year. The directors' report states that sales of gas amounted to 435.046,000 cubic feet, an increase of 7 283,900 cubic feet, or 1.74 per cent. The debenture issue of £lOO,OOO maturing on November 1 has been repaid. The directors recommend a dividend of 3 |>er cent., which, with the interim dividend already paid, makes 6 tier cent, far the year. This will absorb £21.456. The directors recommend placing to reserve fupd £277-1, to renewal fund £2OOO, and to carry forward £9259/15/2.
