Steady Rates Maintained By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, January 25, At the wool sales to-day 904 S bales wete offered, including 4135 bales from New Zealand. About 6929 bales of Australian and New Zealand wool were sold. Home and Continental competition was sustained at steady rates. There were some withdrawals owing to high limits, •New Zealand scoured merinos, Cross-Keys-Oteniata, 21}d., 20 748 d. Greasy crossbred, .Woodlands, 9’[d„ 7 7-Sd. Tlie Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following message from its London office under date January 25: — The wool sales continue with keen competiliou, and the market fully firm. The Bank of New South Wales has received the following cabled advice from its London office, dated January 25: — London wool sales continue firm, German buying little less prominent; some buying account Russia. Hurray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market Cablegram from their London agents, dated January 25:—Sales continue with a good tone. Greasy merino, except the best descriptions, opening rates are barely maintained. - Crossbred greasy except the best descriptions, opening rates are barely maintained. Wright, Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., and Abraham and Williams. Limited, report having received cable advice from their London house regarding the London .wool sales reading as'follows: —The wool sales continue with an average attendance of buyers, and the market continues active with animated competition. Continental and Bradford buyers were the chief opeyitors, but there was Russian competition for crossbreds. Quotations:— , Greasy’fine halfbred. 56/58’s. yielding 64 per cent 10 Greasy fine crossbred. 46/48 s, yielding 75 per cent Greasy medium crossbred. 44/46’s, yielding 75 per eejit. ......... i> Crossbred lambs, 46/50’s, yielding 74 per cent St Australian merino scoured wools and slipe wools are firm.
