Library Books
Sir, —Taking just a cursory glance through the new books at the AA’ellington Public Library, 1 was amazed to find a, small book of verse entitled “Hael Odin” by Tasman Forth. The introduction sets out: “The Christian world is showing signs of decay and death. Does Christianity wage subtle war against existence and good? Does it prepare Godseeking people for Bolhevism and chaos? Does it encourage the parasite, Jewish and otherwise? The number of those answering ‘Yes’ to the above questions is growing.” A verse of one of the poems, “The Jews,” is :— God’s Mother and Grandma aud God were all Jews. “Yes, I'm God,” said a Jew. “I’m the Lord,” Jews scoffed, grew resentful at being outdone. But soon winked and sniggered, saw gam in the fun As the Bugs spread tho Death Cult abroad. I venture to think that readers. .of "The Dominion” of all shades. of opinion will resent this grav and impious attack upon tlie Christian faith. An explanation should be given t’.s to how the book came to receive any place in the library. I notice that no new theological work lias been added to the library for some years. I suggest that “The Bible is True,” by Sir Charles Marston, F.S.A. (Eyre and Spottiswoods), should be secured —1 am. etc., D.O.M, AA’ellington, January 24, [Libraries take an impartial view of controversial subjects. All books on entering the AA’ellington Public Library are examined, and honest expressions, of opinion are allowed to. pass, providing they do not hurt people’s susceptibilities unduly. If, however, this is the case the matter can be investigated. and the librarian is willing to hear complaints. About 18 books on theology and religion have been added to tlie library during the last few months, including "Life Beyond Death,” by J. T. Edison, and "The Heart of the Bible,” by J. B. T. Davies.]
