Opening at Christchurch By Telegraph —Press Association. Christchurch. January 27. The broadsiding season opened on Saturday evening. Tben were two overseas riders, Ken Kirkman and Ray Taylor, and also a Christchurch rider. Charles Blackloek. who has ridden i'i England during recent English summers.’ Tbe A grade han ticap ended m iragedy. Kirkman, Taylor and Black ,ock were all in the final but Blacklock anil Kirkman fe'i mid only Taylor finished.
Results were:—B .-raile scratch race, three-quarters of a mile’ W Dunipioton 1. F. Forties 2. Tone 1.9 A grade scratch race: C. Rhodes 1 J Hobson 2. Time, 1.4 4-5.
